If you know me, you know I was born and raised in Deep Cove, and absolutely love it
(and miss it – so much so that I have it tattooed on my arm, and on my finger!)
So, when we were looking for a location for a shoot, I instantly thought of Deep Cove, and luckily everyone was on board with it.
This shoot came together better than I ever could have imagined, the team behind it was so open to ideas, and in the end it turned out exactly like I had pictured in my head.
(Let me tell you – planning a collab is pretty much planning a mini wedding – I’m a pro now for whenever that day comes!)
(Left to right: Christina Lawrence, Taylor Cooper, Clayton Chitty, & Cait Davidson)
These models were THE BEST – I didn’t know any of them except for Clayton going into it, and feel like I left making a couple new, and ridiculously good looking friends.
Photographer(s): All of the photo’s in this blog are courtesy of the amazingly talented Jen of Four Leaf Photography but we also had the equally amazing Diana of Happy Bees Events & Studios help out as our second shooter.
I will say – after this shoot I have a new found obsession with colored smoke bombs – and do not be surprised if you see some more “smoke bomb shoots” in the future. The smoke bomb was a “I’m lying in bed the night before the shoot and have a genius idea..” Yes – the idea was genius, but the fact that the colored smoke bombs could get on the borrowed dresses (Thanks to House of Vienna in Langley) was Diana’s worst nightmare.
Picture Stephanie of Mobile Session Stylist and myself in the background setting off the smoke bombs as a “test” to see which direction the wind was blowing, and then the male models dropping the drop cloth infront of the “Brides” to shield them if the wind did blow their way, running into place, snapping a couple shots and boom – done.
(All while Diana is ready to launch herself off the dock into the freezing cold ocean if anything happened to these dresses – which thankfully nothing bad happened)
Thank you to the below people for making this dream shoot a reality:
Camille & Matt who woke up way before they needed to, to let us use The Deep Cove Brewery as our getting ready and first shot location.
Nicole Quigley of Ever Red Fresh Designs for bringing my flower vision to life and supplying the floral crowns, bouqets, boutonniere and the floral arrangement for the tables.
Bespoke Decor Rentals for allowing us to use their decor to make this shoot the absolute best.
Kim at House of Vienna for allowing Diana and myself to come hang out in her shop for hours on end to make sure we found the perfect dresses for the shoot.
Stephanie Caetano of Mobile Session Stylist for making sure these ladies had the most stunning hair styles!
Our final shot of the day was thanks to an unknown Deep Cove boater who pulled up just as we were packing up.. Clayton was in awe of his boat, and we figured why not ask if we could take some quick shots in the million dollar boat of a stranger.. To our luck he said yes, and we wrapped up the day with some final (literally) million dollar shots.
Stay tuned to see some more upcoming Collabs!
